Opened in 2020, The Higgins Hotel New Orleans is connected to and works closely with one of the city’s proudest attractions, the National World War II Museum It joins a wave of new high-end hotel openings in the surrounding Central Enterprise zone (CBD) however stands out amongst them for specifically this unusual association.
The hotel takes pleasure in the support of Hilton and it’s boutique Curio line, interesting those who choose to show brand name loyalty, however want to remain in a slightly more memorable residential or commercial property than a traditional Hilton. The wartime design theme and retro aesthetics definitely raise it beyond the standard hotel.
I stayed in the entry-level King Room, which starts at $129 per night, soon after the hotel opened. The 360 square feet of space felt generous for an entry-level room, and the amenities, style, and comfort were equivalent to any equivalent four-star hotel. It’s especially appealing offered how brand-new the spaces are.
The hotel provides an outstanding range of centers, with excellent food and beverage offerings, however its standout function is its distance and access to the museum, which is a major element for those planning to visit, especially veterans and group trips. The theme will not appeal to everybody, though it’s tasteful and evocatively done, and there’s a touch of vintage class in general. For anybody looking to take in history and remain in an excellent looking, full-service hotel in the CBD, it’s a top option.

From the outdoors, the building, (in contrast to the mostly-modern CBD) has an almost Gothic appearance.
I showed up at a hectic period as the hotel had actually just opened and was inviting large groups to the residential or commercial property.
The lobby personnel were on hand to assist with all baggage and other requirements, and even though it was officially still the honeymoon duration, it seemed like the systems for check-in and customer relations were already inviting and professional.

The sense of magnificence I experienced in the lobby subtly carried through to the guest rooms.
The design information changed in between a homage to Art Deco via the mirrors and light fittings, and retro themes via major and more spirited artwork that evoked the wartime period.
Rooms on all levels neglect the immediate Central Company District, but noise wasn’t an issue at all, the soundproofing of the windows was leading notch and during the evenings and over weekends, the streets outside are not high-volume roads for car traffic.

The King Rooms are relatively uniform in presentation.
While Higgins Hotel is not situated in the real thick of things in the center of the historic French Quarter, lots of guests will value the buffer, and guests coming generally to go to the museum will undoubtedly discover it the best area.
Next time, I would update to a King Corner Space for the additional area, bathtub, and damp bar, which are well worth the extra cash in my viewpoint, and the cost difference is rather very little.

The Higgins Hotel is flush with all the facilities you would expect to find at a great 4 or luxury hotel, as befits a member of the Hilton Curio brand.
The stunning lobby location streamed into the main bar and dining establishment location, which also showed the 1940 s ambiance.
The bar, Kilroys, has actually high-top tables made from faux military device parts decorated with lights with replica infantry helmets. Period-appropriate music plays to maintain the style (think Glen Miller, etc) and there are screens showcasing (modern-day) news and sports games.
Here, you’ll also discover the devoted Concierge desk, set up to supply details both about the The Second World War Museum and the general attractions and home entertainment alternatives in the city.
Guests can also try the hotel’s signature dining establishment, Café Normandie, a big, open-plan dining room with both regular table seating and a number of large cubicles with tables emblazoned with world maps. Images and large murals on screen play on the hotel’s sentimental aspects.
Visitors can dine here for breakfast, lunch, and supper. I enjoyed the rustic French menu, that includes some regional Cajun and Creole favorites, too. Breakfast had a remarkable ‘construct your own Benedict’ option, with different bread, topping, and sauce components.

Taking the elevator to the ninth flooring, my preferred after-dinner spot was the roof bar, Rosie’s On The Roof
The hotel’s final huge amenity though, is, of course, the access to the World War II Museum
Such bundles consist of a basic Admission Bundle, which consists of the room rate, plus day-to-day breakfast, and a two-day school pass to the museum for each adult registered to the space.

The Higgins Hotel New Orleans was the number-one-rated hotel in New Orleans on Trip Consultant at the time of writing out of 176 properties, and still within some 6 months of opening.
On the review site, the hotel had overwhelming appreciation for the area and attention to detail with the features, saying that spaces were “plush and comfortable” and the food was “exceptional quality.”
The majority of visitors also liked the distance to the World War II Museum, saying it was “excellent if you wished to take a break” during your see, and the proximity was “truly worth the see”.
The only recurring moderate complaint was that the hotel can be a 10-15 minute walk to some popular parts of downtown, and guests with less mobility may have to take cabs into the French Quarter, however this was a minor point.

Who remains here: A large percentage of military veterans and history enthusiasts check out the World War II Museum and the clients can alter more fully grown.
We like: The food and beverage design and offerings are all provided in methods that honor the hotel style without being gimmicky.
We think you should know: The hotel does not have a swimming pool, if that’s of any value.
Service Insider.
Rather, it has all the hallmarks and features of a top quality, 4 or five-star hotel outside of a swimming pool and health spa.
The hotel certainly caters to tourists and groups visiting the museum, many of whom are elderly veterans.
